List Accounts

Quick-Start: At least one account must be entered. Adding investments is optional, but an account must be created to hold them first. Once you've entered investments that we track with Fundata, the values will be updated for you nightly, including distributions.
For each account with investments, you will be able to specify the asset allocation mix for the account. We currently only use the basic ones of Cash (and equivalents), Fixed Income, and Equities for different locations (eg. Canada, US, Europe, Global ...). We provide a rebalancing tool once you have entered investments. You can also see the overall asset allocation over all your accounts by clicking the button which will become available below the table.

This page gives you the listing of all of your accounts, their balances in Canadian dollars, and their average return and risk (based on the data you entered regarding investments).

Adding Accounts and Investments
Add an account with the Add Account button below the table

Once you create an account, a "Cash" investment will be automatically created for it. The balance of the account will be then put into that "investment". The % growth per year will apply to the Cash investment (treated as income by default). You will then be able to add and edit investments in the Account (including Cash) by clicking the Investments link in the Accounts list.

You can go to add and edit investments by selecting 'View investments'.
If that link is displayed in red, that means that some or all the investments have not been revalued in more than a month. In that case, the values need to be updated

For stocks, ETFs and mutual funds we cover, the MoneyReady App will update their values to their last closing value using Fundata. If you had set the investment to reinvest distributions, reinvestment will occur at the closing price of the distribution pay date without fees. You may need to update the number of shares you own and the account Cash balance to reflect investment distributions in the account from the last time you logged in to the site.

IMPORTANT: You should review these values and adjust them for any sales/purchases and deposits/withdrawals since your last login
Once all your accounts and their investments are entered, you may want to edit all of the values of your investments together; this can be done through the 'View all investments in all accounts' page accessible with the button below the table.
You will be able to update all of your investment values at once, on one page (that is, the investment valuation dates, the values and the book values).

Comparing Portfolios and MOCK accounts
If an investment with a ticker symbol is present in an account, you can select the account in the first column of the table.
When View Selected is clicked, historical data for the investments will be obtained from Fundata and a graph will be shown below the table.
Again, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this historical data.
The graph shows the theoretical performance for up to 5 years for each account.
IMPORTANT: this graph is not of your actual performance:
It assumes the investments in the account were invested at the start of the investment period (usually 5 years), in the same proportion as they are set today and any dividends reinvested.
Investments without historical data are considered in that proportion but with no growth.
By setting up portfolios to compare in different accounts, this feature allows you to compare the historical performance of the different portfolios.
Although past performance says little of future returns, it can help to analyse portfolios in making future investment decisions.
You can also use MOCK accounts to make these portfolio comparisons. MOCK accounts are ignored in the TIME MACHINE.
Advisors can copy their own MOCK accounts to clients to automate the creation of similar accounts for different clients. Client accounts can then be edited and tailored to the client.

Set target asset allocations
Once you have added investments to an account, a link to view the asset allocation will become available.
It will be in red, at first, as you will need to set your current target asset allocation for the account.
The link will be orange if any of the asset allocations in the account are currently more than 10% away from their targets, indicating you may want to rebalance the investments in the account (optional).
Once all your accounts are given target allocations, a button linking to an overview of your overall asset allocation will become available below the table.

Deleting accounts
You can only delete an account if it is not currently associated with any other entries (eg. an AUTOMATIC SAVINGS/WITHDRAWALS, or a Home Buyer's Plan).
To avoid mistakenly deleting an account, you must delete all of the investments in an account, or bring all of them to zero, before you can delete said account.
