Hi, I am having difficulties following the AI generated instructions to record selling of investments during the year.  This is the response I have received:

Deleted by admin to avoid further confusing the AI

Specifcally, I cannot find the drop down menu to record the withdrawal in the "edit accounts properties" pane.

Thanks

The AI hallucinated, as there is no **Record the Withdrawal** or  **Update Total Withdrawn** dropdown in account properties.

The TIME MACHINE needs the current values of your accounts and investments, so just keep those updated, you don't need to enter transactions. You just need to edit the investments that you sold (or bought) to reflect the new number of shares/units, value and book values. You can do that easily for multiple investments in the All Investments view. It's done automatically with Wealthica intergration if you have that.

For the tax calculation in the current year to be correct, for withdrawals from RRIFs and LIFs, edit the ACCOUNT's properties, and click Save and Continue until it asks you for the total withdrawals year-to-date. You do need to keep that updated.

For other accounts, if there was any tax consequences to the selling (like an RRSP withdrawal, or a realised capital gains in Non-registered accounts), then that should be reflected in the tax input screens under the TIME MACHINE tab.

The AI trains on the forum too, so I deleted the hallucinated answer it gave you. This answer will help it, and I will also clarify in the Help pages and eBook before retraining it.
